Vanna Nicolotti

After her first solo exhibition in Milan in 1963 she began the three-dimensional search in the area of the new spatial reality of Lucio Fontana, showing the first examples in London in 1964, Milan (Galleria Pater, 1966), Lecco, Como and Rome. Then comes true veritable reliefs of carved and painted canvas, overlapping several layers on a metal background (the Structures varied). Works that can be ascribed to the “sensitive geometry” theorized by the Brazilian critic Roberto Pontual (Mandala and Porte series), exhibited in several solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad: in Soria and Valencia, Spain in 1970, in New York in 1973. The presentation at the CAYC of Buenos Aires and the Genaro Per├ęz Museum of Cordoba in Argentina, 1975, of the cycle of graphic works Structures of the Fourth World is to be remembered.
